Dear Marketer…

Having Your Own Online Business ~

With Thanksgiving over and Christmas quickly approaching …we’ve had plenty to get done and then some!  We’ve been working on new projects and online businesses!

Everyone knows the sad tales of our teetering economy, the deep and wide reaching bailouts and …all those coming forth requesting to be part of them!  The last time our economy took such a fall to our nation and it’s people was the Great Depression.  Who knew that could ever happen again?  We are a very spoiled nation in that we have more than most other countries around the world.

BUT …from the looks of it we’re getting closer to another Great Depression happening again, and now we are in something called a Recession … a period of reduced economic activity and withdrawal from the availability of credit and monies we’ve all worked hard to earn and save for our present and our futures!

For those of you that may not know …the Great Depression was a worldwide economic downturn starting in 1929 and ending at different times in the 1930s and early 1940s. It was the largest and most important economic depression in modern history, and is an example of how far our world’s economy can fall.

This folks …is our nations history and we’re on the edge of seeing it happen all over again if we don’t change the way we view money. the necessities in life we all need to have, the things we want and what it takes to earn a good income …even in a questionable economy!

In a struggling economy with so many people losing jobs, tons of homes foreclosing, cost of living hikes, medical insurance rising, college tuition on the rise, unsure fuel and energy costs and so much more …What are we to do?

We’d like to have your attention for a few minutes to share some good information regarding having an online business.  This comes from our almost 30 years of experience and knowledge in business both off and online.  In case you’re wondering …yes, we’ve had our failures too!  We learned from each and every one of them and that’s why we are where we are today financially!

SO …

Have you been thinking about how you and your loved ones are going to make it in this ‘Questionable at Best’ economy?  How’s the business you already have working for you?  Are you earning enough with your efforts and hard work to be ‘just comfortable’ …wouldn’t you love to earn more?

Now we’ll be the first to admit, nothing beats the thrill of a fast triple-digit winner.  But the likelihood of that happening, especially in this waining economy …we’d say is pretty darned slim and we’re both optimists.  But occasionally someone does get lucky!

We’ve come to realize that the best thing is that anyone can get on the winning side of an online business …if you know what you’re doing.  We’ve been able to generate income and build a great income over time by carefully selecting the right companies and businesses to build …

AND …we’ve found some of the best online businesses. We call them our ‘Income Maximizers’ …because that’s exactly what the really good ones do!

The fact is that with all the different online business’s in the industry, alot of people may never hear about the really good ones and …there’s a great chance that we would’ve never learned how much money we could make staying at home and having our own online business!  Our disabilities and inability to continue to work a public J.O.B. of any kind put us in the position to seriously consider working an online business for our income and quite frankly …we’re glad we did!

But we advise strongly …be realistic!

If you’re only interested in chasing big, fast, unrealistic gains, then we apologize. Perhaps an online business just really isn’t for you and you should stop reading this post now.

On the other hand, if you’re a reasonable person who understands that a steady approach at building lasting wealth is the best way and …if you understand that an extra $500 a month and another $1,000 next month all adds up over time …

We want to tell you that lots of people are earning great incomes online and they aren’t alone.  We know of doctors, lawyers, nurses, construction workers, administrative assistants, realtors and even college students who are taking advantage having an online business!  They aren’t any smarter than you, but they are one-step ahead of the rest, because keep in mind …

A really good online business is not a one-time deal.  People are earning a steady and great income working online!  So how are these ‘Average’ Joes & Molly’s making money?

They are taking advantage of starting their own online business!  Starting an online business requires more than simply ‘Clicking’ on a link.  You’ll need to have good people skills, good computer skills, be and stay well connected and be willing to learn and work at building your business.  Nothing happens overnight, but like anything else …having your own business requires time, effort and committment but you can achieve your financial goals and earn a great income online!

Of course, an online business is not for everyone …we hate to say that but it’s true! Unless you’re willing to really learn your business, work hard at it and stay consistent …you’d probably be better off with an average income J.O.B. …if you can find and keep one in this economy!  We don’t mean to be offensive, but again we’re just stating the facts as they are.  We know what it takes and we’re living proof …it can be done!

We want and you’ll want …people that are fully committed to success and are willing to commit to learning the business of their choice and sharing it with others.  If you’re still reading this, then we assume you’re still with us and if that’s the case please, keep on reading!

Did you know that you could be well on your way to retirement in 2 to 3 years?  That’s the average time it takes to learn and build a good online business!

The best part about owning your own online business is the people you’ll meet and the benefits of building your own business!  Along the way we’re sure you’ll learn how to share your business with others, but you’ll have to put your own efforts and time into your business and the income you want to earn.  This will be easy enough if you choose the right business and have a great sponsor to help you.

Best of all, you’ll have piece of mind …knowing that your business is working for you for a change and …not the other way around!  Having full confidence that you are the one calling the shots and …you aren’t at the mercy of every single offer that comes your way that isn’t your ‘Cup of Tea’, doesn’t pay too well or is too difficult for the average person to share with others and earn an income doing it!

Remember that with an online business opportunity …almost nothing that’s *Free pays too well …if at all!  Any business that you would consider worth something in terms of a great income, comes with the price of time, effort hard work and …yes, even a monetary cost to become involved in!

You’ll have to spend money wether or not it’s a daily commute, gas and vehicle maintance costs, meals for the day and suitable work clothing and …that doesn’t include the daily costs of maintaining your home and family’s needs!

Consider that you could conceivably earn whatever you put into your online business back in just the first month and then …more if you stay focused and dedicated to your business.

We want to encourage each of our readers to research online.  Find the industry in an online business that suits you.  Find what you’re passionate about and GO FOR IT!  Not only will you have alot of fun …you’ll meet some of the nicest people worldwide.  Even betteryou’ll find you can earn a great income and enjoy the lifestyle of your hopes and dreams!

Put a Name with a Voice … 3 Interviews!

In ANY business, the sooner you put your VOICE to your NAME, the sooner you WILL become recognized, influential and KNOWN to the masses.  This is what sets YOU aside from others in business,  it’s YOU BRANDING YOU which leads to YOUR Business and YOU … being well known!

Being the product, branding who you are and what you do is so critical when having an online or offline business.  People look for ‘influence’ and ‘notariety’.  They want to HEAR the voice behind the name.  Often times people are what we call ‘phone shy’ and they’re not interested or ‘shy away’ from calling strangers or even receiving a call from someone they don’t know.  Don’t tell anyone but … you can’t have a business and keep it a ‘secret’ or it isn’t a business.

If you’re going to have a business online, you need to find ways to introduce who you are and what you’re doing  … YOU NEED a VOICE that others will listen for, turn to, learn, know and recognize.  That IS YOUR influence and branding!

Here are 3 interviews we’ve done on different topics …  mostly having to do with having a business online, functioning as a ‘couple’ in business and including an overview of who we are,  where we’ve been, what we’ve accomplished and what we do as well as ‘how to’ handle certain situations involved in building any business.

We encourage you to listen, learn and enjoy!

Gary & Viktoria’s Treasure Chest …Online Business Success!

We are frequently asked many questions about how to successfully develop and grow a downline, how to get new prospects and how to earn a really great residual income.

Our strategies come from our 30 years in business both off and online and from those leaders along the way that have taught us what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur in any business …

Growing your own marketing business can be frustrating. The following tips will be essential for you to help grow your business and have a successful business.

30 Ways to Help You and Your Downline Grow Successfully …and Have a Successful Business and Organization …

*  These are things we’ve learned along the way that kept us motivated to continue learning and teaching others.  These are ways to become a true leader and a good sponsor to the members in your downline and create a good reputation and success in your business.

  • Get to know the people in your downline, introduce yourself.
  • Make sure the people in your downline have your contact information.
  • Take notes on special occasions and dates like birthdays, anniversaries, illness or other and rank promotions for each member in your downline and send them eCards or phone them with congratulatory messages to show them you really care about them as a team member in your downline.
  • Call your team members in your downline weekly when convenient to do so.
  • Find out if any one of your team members in your downline needs help with anything and offer your assistance.
  • Schedule a weekly training, question and answer call with the team members in your downline.
  • Know all about the products and services that are in your business.
  • Understand all that is involved with your business, products or services.
  • Study and learn your company compensation plan …be prepared to explain it to a potential new member or an existing one that may have problems understanding it.
  • Know who your direct upline and company leadership is and be ready to assist them if they request you to organize a business or training call or create flyers for an upcoming event etc.
  • Know your support team and the appropriate phone numbers to call and eMail address when you or the members in your downline need assistance regarding their autoships or needs of one of their customers or team members.
  • Study and learn your website and back office, know how to navigate and explain this to each of your new team members when they join your business.
  • Have ready answers and talk to the members in your downline about the business, products or services and be able to explain how things work wether it be the compensation plan, autoships, rankings, leadership or anything relative to the business.
  • Be available for the members in your downline for 3-way calls with prospects.
  • Have resources available to help the members in your downline with advertising & promoting.
  • If you don’t have the answers you need, ask your upline or research the questions online and find the answers to share with your downline.
  • Be able to assist your downline with problem issues or objections.
  • Never ever get involved with downline gossip, rumor or company politics.
  • Avoid competitive, argumentative discussions with any of the members in your downline, remembering that you are first and foremost a team and the company is who you represent together.
  • Don’t get involved in games or situations that would do harm to the reputation of yourself, another member or your company and leadership.
  • Represent your company with pride and always show respect to your company leadership.
  • Don’t make a habit of calling your company leadership with questions or problems, try to resolve questions, answers and issues on your own.
  • Respresent your business, products, services and team members with respect and be a teambe professional, honest and ethical in all your conversations, prospecting and transactions with your downline and people interested in becoming a part of your business or purchasing your products or services.
  • Find and study online marketing business ethics and etiquette.
  • Never cross-promote to someone new to another business or join another business and cross-promote one with the other members in any of your businesses, this is unethical. Teach this to the members in your downline.
  • If you have an issue or problem with your leadership or another member in your downline or on another team, be honest and ethical enough to discuss it with them privately and try to resolve the issue in the best interest of the company and its members.
  • Never speak unkindly about your leadership or another member to the members in your downline …this is what’s known as spreading “poison”  or “cancer” in your downline and can be destructive to your business and your reputation as a leader, sponsor or ranking member in your company.
  • Discussing or being the perpretrator of rumors and gossip getting around to other company members, outsiders and potential prospects can literally ruin any possibility of those people wanting to be a part of your business. Avoid being involved in such at all cost. When in doubt, take the “High Road”, remove yourself from the situation completely, ignore the issue protect your reputation and credibility and that of your business.
  • Above all respect your direct upline and company leadership …they are the ones helping you to succeed.  Remember your reputation and credibility are perceived by the way you act, react and are proactive in your business and relationships.  Do a good job and you’ll succeed and accomplish your goals in life and in business!

What Everyone in a Business Needs to Understand …

Understand that people need a reason to do your business!  Simply telling someone that you like your business, product or service and that its a good one won’t give them a reason to do the business.  You must engage yourself and learn ways to approach and communicate with others and give them a real reason why they should become a part of your business and sell the product or service you have to offer!

First you must find out for yourself what it was that made you want to become involved with the business you’re in.  What was it about your business that attracted you?  Was it the product or service, the leadership, the reputation of the company, the sponsor, the potential income, the number of friends that were in this business?

Both you and your downline need to understand why people would want to purchase what you are selling in your business.  Having a Full understanding of your business, products or service will  make it easier for you and your down -line to find the right people for your business when they ask questions or show interest in your business, product or service.

For example, if you are marketing a health & wellness program, your target prospects or audience will be people who are interested in health & wellness. If you are marketing advertising services, leads or ways to promote a business, your target audience would be those who wish to purchase advertising services like voice broadcasting, autoresponders, eMail systems etc. for their business. If you are marketing music, books, videos etc., then you would be targeting those that enjoy and want to purchase and share those interests.

Having an Effective Prospecting System …

An effective system is also a very important aspect in your growth and the growth of your downline.  Whether or not you will be able to grow your marketing business will be decided by whether or not you have an effective system.  Finding the right people and attracting them to you and your business will be easier if your system has been set up effectively.  Teach your downline all you know about attracting the right people to your business, product or service.

Organize and plan how you want to proceed once you find a business you want to become involved with.  Forget about making a list of your friends and family.  Instead focus on ways you can attract people in the online industry to what it is you’re doing and how you can get them to notice you and your business!

When prospecting using eMail campaigns, instant messaging or by using your phone to call people, try different methods of approach and good communication.  If one doesn’t work, keep trying until you find one that does …never give up!

To Insure that Your Business Will Grow to the Greatest Levels You Must …

  • Be familiar and comfortable with the telephone and the process of calling people, both one-on-one and 3-way conference calling.
  • Be able to speak with prospects and people who are interested in your product or service is the most crucial element in making sure your business is successful.
  • Be able to meet new people online through social networking and instant messaging or eMailing are others ways to get new people into your business.
  • Be knowledgable about online ethics and etiquette, telephone manners, how to treat others in any given situation and how to handle difficult issues or objections in business.
  • Have a “Take Charge” attitude and give more than you take.
  • Give yourself credit, work smarter not harder.  Organize your time and maximize your efforts. Remember to help others and continue to learn everything you can about your business, people and personalities, online functionality and find people online that already have some level of success and follow what they do and how they manage their business and success!

How to Meet New Prospects and Promote Your Business …

Never lead with your business opportunity …build and create a relationship first. When you first meet a prospect

  • Send them an eMail or message using an instant messaging system.
  • Communicate at least 2 or 3 times before presenting your business, product or service.
  • After the 2nd or 3rd message with them, ask them for their contact information.
  • Call them and properly introduce yourself.
  • Be a good listener and learn what makes them tick.
  • Find out as much as you can about your prospect and their interests.
  • Learn what their interests are and what you have in common.
  • Find ways to match your business, product or service to their interests.
  • Realize that not every prospect will be a good match and when  rejection comes (and it will) the operative word is NEXT …!
  • Request the prospect meet with you again by phone if possible or communicate through eMail or Instant Messaging.
  • Follow up – send them a nice “Thank You” note for taking time to talk with you.

Growing a business becomes much easier to develop and maintain when you have everything organized and ready to present.  For example, if you speak with twenty people a day with the intent of getting at least five of those people to become interested in your business, products or services, that is twenty-five new people a week into your business. But you must be persistent and consistent in the manner in which you plan, organize, approach and communicate with new prospects to your business.

Article Writing and Blogging About Your Business, Product or Service to Attract New Prospects …

Being an good writer is a very good way to get people interested in what you are selling.  You can accomplish that by being able to reach many people and give them all the information they need to draw their interest.  That can be done by using articles or blogs, but excellent writing skills will be a total necessity for this to work.

  • Practice your writing skills.
  • Get the online Mirriam-Webster Dictionary/Thesaurus.
  • Place the shortcut on your desktop.
  • Have it available for spelling.
  • Use the Thesaurus, type in the word you think you’d like to use and find different ones with the same meaning varing your language and descriptions of your products or services.
  • Diversify your language skills using the Thesaurus.
  • Find words that attract online marketers in your articles and blogs.

No one is going to read your articles and blogs about your business, products or services if you can’t spell or use grammar correctly.  If you can’t describe what you’re trying to sell effectively, how will anyone be convinced to buy it?

No one will pay attention to you or your business if you don’t make the effort to make yourself known in the online communities and industry.  No one will be around you or helping to promote you if you have a negative “I can’t do it” or needy personality.

Perceptions are everything in the online industry. If you’re perceived as someone who only cares about the money and could care less about other peoples goals and dreams or if you’re a person who doesn’t take time to help others with something they need, you might as well hang it up and go find a hobby or something else you like doing.

Be a good person, a good friend and a good helper. Let your talents and skills be known online. Share good information and resources.  Give of your time and effort and find ways to help others succeed in their goals. Strive to learn everything you can and if you can’t find an answer to a question, ask someone who knows.

There’s always someone that will help you if you are open, honest, ethical, kind and friendly. Helping others online is a good way not only to promote yourself and your business, but you will find great rewards in building and creating good relationships and working together to succeed in a long term, financially successful business.

The success of your business depends on your ability to study, learn, communicate effectively, handle objections, be professional, maintain a positive attitude, be consistent, persistent and committed to what you’re attempting to accomplish. Find your passion, take action and have a good blueprint or plan of how you’re going to succeed in business …it’s your choice as to how you’ll make it all happen!

Now you know some things, but not everything it takes to be a leader and have a successful business.  Things are always changing and there’s much more to be learned in the world of online business and marketing.  Continue to learn, visit us often and ask questions or make recommendations, we welcome them all!

Are You A Future Star… Are You A Leader?

Are your days filled with hope, encouragement, positive things, motivation, great people to work with, a great business …a vision and direction?

If each of us truly understand the vision of just where each of our company’s is headed and what Is just around the corner, most of us would suffer from a lack of sleep!  Isn’t it time you find that vision for yourself?

A vision is a needed element for success in your business! We would like to share each of you… a question! Are you ready to become a leader?  Are you ready to become a star?  What does it take to be one more than mere “Lip” service?

Let’s Take a Closer Look and See …

Our first step is to know every aspect of our business.  Do you know how to walk a prospect through your back office; or where to find answers to questions at your company website?  Are you familiar with the compensation plan and what it takes to accomplish different pin levels in your company if you have them, and what benefit each pin level gives you?  Have you shared your story?  Do you know what your prospects interest are, what their “Hot Buttons” are?  Are you ready to answer any questions your prospect or team members may have?

There’s and old story that states “A Captain knew every nook and cranny of his ship”, should we not know every aspect of our business?  When will you make the choice to look at your business… as a business and NOT just a hobby?

When you (share) bring a new person into your business, how do you help them to get up and running?  Do you get a commitment to be on the company calls?  Do you share what has worked for you?  Do you show a willingness to do 3-way calls for/with them or introduce them to you upline in case they cannot contact you or if they have questions you can’t (yet) answer?

Leadership is a Choice Either Making the Choice or  …Not Making it!

Often the easy way out is simply following those who are already leading by example BUT wait, pay attention here!  Leaders are looking for future leaders within their own organization.  Your downline is looking to you for leadership! Remember whatever you do, they will copy!  If you are simply a follower they become followers for the most part too! If you make the choice to become a leader, they will emulate just that as well!

Let’s Explore Some of the Qualities of Leadership…

  • ALWAYS commits time to learning about their business
  • ALWAYS works toward over-coming their individual short comings and fears
  • ALWAYS finding ones strong suits and traits
  • ALWAYS Shares knowledge with their team
  • ALWAYS avoids and protects ones team from conflict and negativity
  • ALWAYS encourages and inspires with positive attitudes
  • ALWAYS searches for ways to make doing the business easier
  • ALWAYS is willing to do what is best for the company and team
  • ALWAYS nurtures the ability to see the future beyond today
  • ALWAYS looks for future leaders within the organization
  • ALWAYS looks to see the potential in others rather than the faults
  • ALWAYS sees contributions of time as a privilege… NOT a chore!
  • ALWAYS makes themselves available to their company and their team members!

Folks, leaders without question, have the ability to say “I wasn’t right”.  Leaders have the ability to be open to ideas not of their own making.  Leadership is finding a wall and sharing with others how to go around it or over it or… simply blow a hole through it! It’s true!

Leadership has a “Whatever it Takes” and a “Take the Bull by the Horns” Attitude!

Leaders dream of the day they can step up on stage and take pride in how many others they are able to bring up on that stage with them.  The truest test of leadership is just one criterion.

When you look at your organization, how many people are successful?  Is your churn or dropout rate high, or abnormally low?  Do you have lots of people climbing the pin levels, or just a few?

Success Isn’t How Much Money You Make …But How Many You Help Along the Journey!

That is the ultimate report card on your leadership abilities!  Are you interested in being a true leader?  DO the required steps! It all starts with making the decision that you want to be a future star and the future starts today!  Then take ACTION… the rest will follow automatically.  There may be a few bumps along the way, but making the choice and taking the action are the only two catalysts you need to make it happen!

Leadership is the .04 strokes that separate the TOP earners in the company from the bottom taking just that simple insignificant amount of time and effort to accomplish success!  Are you ready to become a future star?  Are you ready to become a future leader?  If you are, then NOW is the right time to get started!

WINNING …In a Losing Situation!

Brace yourselves readers.  This is a subject not meant for the faint of heart or weak in spirit.  It’s really sad when these things happen but they are a reality in any business industry.  We should all learn these lessons before taking any actions towards another, attempting to dismantle or damage relationships in business.

This past week we encountered a very difficult and burdensome situation. We came out on top because we knew how to avoid conflict and dismantling of our truest friendships.  What should not have been an issue in the first place came into being through the underhanded efforts of a few select people that we thought were our friends.

We knew our position, thought twice, discussed it and ended up making the right decision before becoming involved in what would have surely ended up in disaster for ourselves and anyone else involved. The only answer was to remain neutral and to neutralize the situation completely.  Giving the situation and the person(s) behind it any credit at all would have put us in the driving seat rather than simply being the injured party.

Sure, it would have been easy enough to engage and attempt to mediate and correct the situation, but what was the point and what would be the end result?  We refused to sacrifice our own good reputation, credibility and our business to engage in such immature, inexperienced and “in our face” actions by a few others.  To do so would have put us in a position of being the ones that elevated and kept a bad situation going.  We simply took the “high road” and did the right thing.

In business and especially online, we all meet and befriend many people.  Sometimes we do not know or consider that we may run into a difficult situation or that we as business professionals could be placed in the position of having to resolve any issues involving those we consider to be good friends. It’s very disappointing to all of us when we think we have a good friend and it goes sour due to some bad business habit, unethical tactic or manipulative person doing a bad deed.  Being unprofessional does not help anyone win anything more than a bad reputation and loss of credibility in any business.

Most of us realize that even with the best intentions, that some people who are involved in creating difficult situations for others, have a different agenda than being good friends or business associates in the first place and will in fact have no qualms … about manipulating a situation to where they can achieve their goals of dividing and conquering for their own self gain and the possibility of damaging someone elses reputation and credibility.

These types of people are not your friends, they are opportunistic and could care less who they harm in the process.  They see only themselves and their gain to be worthwhile and will go to any length in acting like “vultures”.  They lurk in chat rooms and social networking sites to find those “unsuspecting” ones they can harvest to their business, then point to those who ARE professional and ethical and pick them apart to serve their own “altruistic” needs.

The question begs is it ever a good thing to meet a difficult situation “head on”?

Sometimes meeting a difficult situation “head on” that involves you and your business and …you are correct in your beliefs and values, CAN be productive if handled properly.  Other times it is not a good idea because no matter how properly handled …you have no way to predict how someone else may react to your suggestions or good intentions to resolve a difficult situation involving a lack of ethics, dishonesty or unprofessionalism.  Particularly when that person(s) is at the bottom of it and is the one who created the situation in the first place.

When we speak of being honest, ethical and professional, our intentions are always good. In any business there is etiquette, ethics and professional behavior that must be maintained no matter what the issue or problem between other people or even those we work with in our business and industry on a daily basis. Every person in business should be mature enough to be able to agree to disagree and still maintain a civil relationship.

Unfortunately, some are religated to continually and consistently harrassing others and finally in the end causing losses of friendship for themselves and others. One would have to assume in this case that those types of people are not in fact good friends or candidates for good business associates.

Business Ethics 101 requires one to respect and exercise ethics in regards to someone new to a company and business opportunity.  It is not ethical to approach them with all sorts of reasoning and untruths about the business they’re in, attack their company, business or their business associates.  It is not ethical to approach them and request they come over to your business in the same business competitive industry.

Individuals have the right to choose and make their own decisions as to what business they become involved in.  Once they’ve made that decision, steering them in another direction or to another company is considered highly unethical and unprofessional unless that person has taken the appropriate steps to inquire first and then moves forward with their decision to take on another business.  When an individual places another individual in the position of having to choose one business or another and uses unfactual tactics to do it …that is considered unethical.

There are people who engage in these types of work habit and activity for their own gain and end up causing others disappointment and broken relationships within their circle of friends and business associates.  People learn from those they work with and the bosses they collaborate with.  The fact is that all people are not equal in their work ethics and professionality.

What they’ve been taught along the way and what works out for them one time may not be successful everytime.  Even if they have a long history of success using certain unethical tactics, eventually they do fail and ruin their own reputation and credibility and usually that of the person(s) they’re involved with.

There are all kinds of situations we all will encounter in business.  It may be an issue of discrimination, work ethic, personal relationships, dishonesty or simply acting unprofessionally.  Although some people think they should mediate in these types of situations, we find more often than not that attempting to do so only elevates the issue and does not achieve a positive outcome.

Realize business is business. We all create relationships that are both personal and business.  When the two meet and are successfully merged that’s a good thing.  But when the two meet and are unsuccessful due to professional jealousies, gossip, rumor or unethical practices …everyone involved loses something be it their reputation and credibility or a close friendship.

How we react to a difficult situation and how we treat others is what determines our strengths, our credibility and our reputation. There are the 4″ A’s” of any situation in life or in business.  First one is “Action” …what we do when faced with a situation.  Then there is ReAction …how we “ReAct” to what’s happening.  There’s “InAction” …doing nothing when faced with a situation.  Lastly is “ProAction”…having the good sensability to recognize a situation and if necessary be prepared to avoid difficulty and anything that would damage us, another person, a business reputation or decision.

In the end those that create difficult situations always end up losing the battle because no matter what tactics they use or what attempts they make to destroy others …they gain little if nothing. They only end up losing credibility and gaining a bad reputation for causing problems, being dishonest, unethical and unprofessional.

Time is what evaluates and determines wether or not these kinds of people change their ways or wether they go forward self destructing with bad behavior and work habits.  Should they continue to engage in making bad decisions and behaving unprofessionally, they’ll only end up unable to rewrite history in terms of their past actions and lose the chance of ever becoming successful or achieving their goals in life or in business. Those people intellegent and informed enough to recognize their behavior and lack of honesty will steer clear of them and anyone who associates with them.

We encourage all of you to be watchful of those you befriend in life and in business.  It’s not as simple as meeting someone and giving your trust blindly.  As business people we must always remain focused on what we’re doing and our business.

Gossip and rumor are inappropriate.  Engaging in such only puts you in the position of losing your reputation and credibility no matter how close the relationship is.  Anytime you notice someone engaging in unprofessional behavior, steer clear of the situation as much as possible.  Remember your reputation and credibility and …that of those involved is key to your success or failures in life and in buisness!

Make sure you really get to know someone before you engage in any business invitation or associations. Once you do meet someone, really get to know them.  Get to know their patterns, work ethic and behaviors …how they engage in business, how they focus and how they treat others whom they work with.  Observe how others “ReAct” towards them in any given situation.

Research new people you meet.  In this day and age of technology, it’s possible to research online and find out most anything about someone if they’re actively working for any company or have a business.  You can find out things like they’re work history,  their associations with others and what if any problems they’ve had in business.

In finding out about someone you meet online, you will be doing yourself and your business a great favor.  Doing your “Due Diligence”  will allow you to know all about someone and determine wether of not they’ll be a good candidate to be friends with, work with or have in your business. You always want to know if a person is ethical, honest and professional and is capable of being a long term relationship and a good business associate BEFORE you get involved with them.

By doing this each and every time you meet someone new, you’ll find out that you’ll establish better long term relationships and business associations!  Folks, it only takes a few minutes to find out about someone rather than finding out bad information later.  When that happens if a difficult situation arises, you’re left disillusioned, disappointed and perhaps even may risk losing your reputation or credibility due to lack of knowledge or …there is the possibility that you’ll be placed in a position of having to resolve issues that aren’t truly in the best interest of your reputation, your credibility or your business!

When finding out distasteful information about someone, be careful to evaluate what you believe as factual rather than words spoken by other individuals. Gossip and rumor always have a way of determining a persons ability to speak truthfully and wether or not they indeed have truthful information that can be backed up by having gathered factual information first. This may involve questioning an individual personally or by finding out through public records as a matter of fact.

Realize that “Winning” is not always about being first.  Sometimes in winning you lose, just as in losing sometimes you end up being the winner.  It all depends on what you’re seeking.  If its to win by having a good reputation and credibility and you do the right thing …that’s great!  If it’s about winning by being dishonest and unethical …you’re really the loser.  On the other hand if it’s about losing because you did the right thing …you become the winner.  If it’s about losing because you did the wrong thing, you deserve to lose.  Be careful what you consider “Winning” and how you achieve that goal.

Remember it’s your reputation and your credibility and that of people you involve in any situation.

Good friends and business relationships are invaluable.  They are to be nurtured, treasured and protected. Your MOST important resolve should be to protect your own reputation and credibility in any situation, your business and work ethics. Maintain honesty and professionality at all times and when possible neutralize a bad situation and protect yourself, your friends and your business associates from being pulled into a difficult and bad situation. By doing so, you’ll enjoy a great reputation, respect and credibility and your reward will be that of long term friends and great business associations!

The RULES of Having an Online Business!

Every day we read about or hear of someone whose disappointed or has problems finding the right home based business. They’ve tried everything and still can’t find “THE ONE” that they love doing or that is right for them. They’ve failed at every single business they’ve tried and now they don’t want to do one or they’ve given up …they don’t know where to go or who to ask about finding the right opportunity for them!

People want to find a home business that is solid and stable and will provide them a great income, but they’re lost and lack direction in finding something that fits. They want to do something that others do, something that’s successful and comes with a great deal of income. The fact is that most people have no clear direction or idea of what it is they really want! Money simply doesn’t resolve every issue and shouldn’t be the focus ever!

One of the main things we find when talking to others about network marketing or the home business industry is that they are mostly concentrating on the wrong thing… getting rich quick! There seems to be this notion that when you sign on to a home business industry, you’re going to make tons of money in a short amount of time or there’s a system that does 97% of the work for you …WRONG!

An online business is NOT a “Social Club”.  There are a few of those and even some that tend to lean in that direction when they’re usually really high cost deals for the monetarily advantaged; most other business opportunities ARE serious about the credibility of the company and the people who join them! The company and most of the sponsors genuinely care about the people who become their members and they take great care in getting them trained to do their business, promote and bring new people to the opportunity!

The truth of the matter is that Some people think of an online business as a “Hobby” and not as something they can do to really supplement or replace their income lost by getting layed off or fired from a J.O.B., or retirement with less than they’d planned, death of a loved one or simply because they’re tired of putting up with all the rules and working for someone else and following those standards. SO …why do they bother with an online business and …how did they ever survive up until now in any other business?

Business is Business! We often wonder why people think that building a home business is any different from building a traditional business? Like a friend of ours says:  “It doesn’t matter if it’s a ice cream shop, a hamburger stand, a high rise office, a consignment shop or online network marketing. They are all businesses”. They all take time, effort, commitment, dedication and hard work! The only difference is that you’re your own boss!  You get to choose your hours, your business and the people you deal with! If you’re going to have an online business …make sure it’s the right one for you and then go do it!

Folks, if you want just a “Hobby” …then go and find one!  Stay out of the home-based business industry.  On the other hand …if you have a business you love and what your doing to succeed isn’t really working, CHANGE what your doing. Go out and find something or someone who will help you!

We all have to do something when we get out of bed in the morning!  First things first.  It’s about living! Bottom line, it’s about YOU, what you want in life, what your goals are, what you love doing and are passionate about and …about helping other people. It’s not about who you know, how good you are, the compensation plan, or much or anything else.

People want something so badly that they simply are blinded by the facts. When someone is ONLY thinking about the money …they’re not really focused on what it is they want in a business or on helping other people! They just want to “Get There Fast” or “Get Rich Quick” without taking the time to find that one thing they love doing.  It’s all about loving what YOU are doing NOT what everyone else is doing!

Everytime someone comes at us with some incredible, “It’s the best” or “It’s the only way to go” deal, we often wonder what it is they’re really thinking about …is it the money or do they just simply hop on every deal that comes along when they get tired or haven’t succeeded in their old one, or that their friends promote to them and they feel obligated to join because “they’re friends”?  Are they simply “Dead Set” in a mindset that they can’t really escape from because their EGO won’t let them?

We call that “Edging God Out” (EGO). Sometimes it’s a matter of “Edging Other People Out”.  When it’s either of these, you only “Edge Yourself Out”.  When this happens your opportunities manage to “Thin Out”, you lose friends and you lose credibility!

Everyone knows or has heard of an online business that has a good product, service or compensation plan! The bottom line is … what makes yours different? What is it about you and your business that will attract other people? You MUST be able to clearly define what your business is about and what you do and …how it can help others!

The Difference is YOU. As someone that is passionate about what you’re doing. As someone who has interests bigger than just yourself. It’s not about being good enough …YOU have to want it bad enough!

Our answer is to Research Your Interests. Find something you love doing and have a clear goal and direction in. We’re all given certain talents and skills, the trick is finding that one thing you’re really passionate about and then go and do it! Here are a few tips on how to choose the right home business:

Decide What You DON’T Want and THEN …Decide What You DO Want. Somewhere either in an email file that you can place on your desktop or in a notebook, write all of these things down and refer to them often. Define your goals and what it is you want to accomplish!

From there, the next step is… HOW do you get what you want. You have to define where you want to go FIRST,(what do you want) and then you must create a way to get there and goals to accomplish in doing so i.e., 1-2-3, step by step.

Define What You Want to Look For in An Opportunity. From there, try the product or service! If you like it, kewl! If not, keep looking. When you find a product or service you like, make sure you join someone that really has your interest at heart and will help you. Someone that you can bond with. Someone that will be there as your ”Go To” person when you need them.  Someone who has the right experience for the industry you choose and knows how to help you achieve your goals.

Don’t Ever Sign On to a Business Right Away. Take some time to get to know the business, the compensation plan, the product or service. READ the Terms and Policies BEFORE hitting that “Submit” button. Do as much online research as you can,  commonly called “Due Diligence”. Find out everything you can BEFORE you join a company or business. DON’T join merely because your friend is involved or because someone else told you it’s a good opportunity for you!

Take Time to Get to Know the Person Sponsoring You. If they don’t have time for you before you make the decision to sign on to their business …they won’t likely have the time afterwards. They won’t be there and available to you when you need them!

Stay away from “Recruiters”!  Recruiters are like a “One Night Stand”.  They will set you up with something and maybe they’ll be there for you and most likely NOT … because they are focused on how many people they get into a deal and how much money they will make doing it!

Find a good “Old Fashioned Sponsor”!  They will make the date, call you, call you back and eventually marry you to the right deal!  They WILL be there for you when you need them to be! They know the importance of helping you get to where you want to go.  It’s their pleasure to see you succeed and accomplish your goals because …it helps them accomplish theirs too!

Bottom Line: DO and Attract More of What You Want and Less of What You Don’t!  FIND what it is you want to do and then …go do it! Don’t get caught up in wasting your work day. Don’t linger in chat rooms, social networking sites or any place else that would interrupt the goals you are working to achieve. There will be plenty of time for chat rooms and social networking sites when you’ve really accomplished several of your goals and you’re focused enough to be able to offer your experience and help to others and help them achieve their goals too!

The point here is to Define What it is YOU Want to Do, as well as where you’d like to go in an online business. If you have any questions or need help finding the right business opportunity for you or resources that would help you, please feel free to contact us! We have 30 years experience in business  both off and online …we CAN and will help you!

What Should Your Goals Be for This New Year?

Every New Year we all resolve to do better in our lives and in our businesses., but somehow we lose track of the goals and resolutions we make from year to year.

As we rang in this New Year and elected a new President, we thought of how we could stick to our resolutions and make this New Year a better one;  how we could achieve our goals and help others achieve theirs too.  This New Year, we have just inauguralized a new President and Commander in Chief and a truly historical one.  We as Americans have come together and achieved what some thought impossible.  We all have much to look forward to in this year and years to follow.

Regardless of our economy, history proves that we flourish even in troubled times.  Why?  Because we try harder, we make necessary changes, we accept things easier and we have that sense of togetherness in most everything.  We make a point of always helping others and we make sacrifices for the good of our families and communities.  In tough times we bond together to achieve our goals and we are stronger.  We strive to maintain a “Whatever it Takes” attitude in everything we do!

This is the year of change for the U.S. and for the world. This is your year to create a truly remarkable and “Positive” change.  Stick to everything positive, have faith and believe …it can happen for you and it will!  Together we can all make this year our year the greatest year ever.  We must stay on course, stay focused, be committed, be consistent, help each other and yes …even make a few sacrifices.  These are the things that help us achieve our goals in life and in business.  Use this year to your advantage and remember to help others along the way.

Spark the “Positive” in yourself and everyone you meet and talk to.  Share all the best of everything that happens and share the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Reward and compliment others for their achievements.  Help others and you will be rewarded more than you could ever imagine.  Here are a few ways for you to stay focused and make this your best year ever:

  • Supercharge your self belief. Is it a book, music, a certain person, a favorite thing you love doing?  Look to those things that inspire you.  No matter what happens in your day, find ways to stay up beat!
  • Convince yourself that you truly do deserve to “Have it All”. We are all endowed with the right to achieve our dreams in life wether it be something material we want or a top position in a company. Rise to your highest level and then take one more step each time assuring that you can achieve your goals beyond your imagination but keep it realistic.
  • Give yourself the motivation to go make it happen. Find ways daily to stay motivated.  Look for those things you love doing and that make you the happiest, then go and do them.  Don’t go for unrealistic goals, do everything one step at a time and one day at a time.
  • Create a stress free zone so that you can focus on what is truly important to you. Regimen and organize your work days, always taking time for breaks, meals, sleep and quiet time. Turn off your phones and Instant Messaging, don’t get trapped in negative converstations or chatting with people that bring you down and attack your sense of well being and positive living.
  • Activate the optimal thought patterns to bring financial prosperity to you. Think and attract only the positive in life. Optimize your mindset and use only the positive that comes into your life daily.
  • Keep you healthy so that you can maximize your opportunities. Eat right, pay attention to nutrition and proper minerals and essential health supplements.
  • Fine tune your thinking so that you not only know what it is you want, but you will also know exactly how to achieve it.
  • Unleash your own abilities to manifest the life of your dreams. You’ve been blessed with certain talents and skills of your own, use them to your advantage.  Find that one gift, something your passionate about.
  • Give yourself the optimism vital for maintaining the perfect state of mind to create even more successes. Find ways to think and do positive things only.  Stay away from politics in business and negative people.

Regardless of your goals, these are the Essential Steps that provide the key components vital for creating success in your life and in your business.  Use these steps to your benefit and share them with others.  Whatever your goals and dreams are in life and in business …go out and make it happen!

Whatever your needs be it a friend to talk to, needing postivite motivation or your business questions and needs …you can count on us.  We’re here to help you achieve your goals this year.  If you have something you’d like us to address and blog about …feel free to contact us by phone or email.  We welcome all suggestions!

What Do You Believe About Marketing Online?

It would be impossible to tell you how many phone and instant messaging conversations we have with others daily about what it takes to be a good online marketer!  As we ask and answer the questions …we can’t help but notice a few belief systems and mindsets that are usually and totally off base!

We talked to people that believed in Software, pricey Training  Courses, Traffic Exchanges, FREE opportunities, those systems that do the 97% of the work for you and …you name it, we’ve heard it all!

Okay …do you really believe that a $49 piece of software or a $2,000 dollar or more Training Course that claims to teach you everything or at least enough to earn you riches over-night, in a few weeks, in a few months or even a year is where the money’s at?

How many people do you know that paid for that piece of software and got resell rights and never made a dime selling it? In the first place, how many pieces of software are being sold, by how many people and how outdated are they?

What about Training courses?  Spend a few hundred dollars or spend the $1,000’s …doesn’t matter, know why?  Not all, but by and large most of those that sell their training are simply training you to do what they do …

So what if you don’t succeed at doing what they’re doing or don’t do as well?  You won’t make the kind of money they do.  Most trainings focus on either one or two things. They usually involve specific training in mastering particular skills or mastering the learning curve quicker than you could do it yourself but …comes at a price.

What about Traffic Exchanges and Quick Dollar Matrices. You won’t get rich doing Traffic Exchanges or $2 and $3 dollar matrices.  They all generate excitement in the beginning and then they ‘Fizzle’ out!  They all stop when the very last person comes in and there’s literally no one that doesn’t know about it and hasn’t joined it already!

You’re not going to get rich spending your days surfing a Traffic Exchange so that the company gets their business noticed.  Your not going to get rich popping heads into forced matrices in hopes they’ll all upgrade and you’ll get paid $2 to $3 a pop!  Even if you put in thousands …it all stops somewhere!

What about a Free memberships?  They’re free so how does that get you paid?   It NEVER does because when people join free and then don’t upgrade or personally sponsor anyone …there’s no money to pay you or anyone else!

We know people and we know systems.  We also know that making money online is like any other traditional J.O.B. …it takes time and never happens overnight.  There’s simply not one system that works any better than another!  There’s no such thing as a system that does 97% of the work for you!  Same with promises from recruiters or companies
that would tell you their business can make you rich quickly!

Promises like these don’t work!  How much money will you or have you already wasted when you could’ve been making the same or even more money in a good online business product or services company?  The answer is simple …alot more!

How Does One Choose Which Online Company or Business Program to Join?

An income based on the smaller dollar pay outs usually is an income that does’nt last or plays itself out eventually.  Most of those business opportunities come and go or restart with a new company name or program.

Most low cost to join programs usually unravel after a period of time.  Either their product or service is substandard or overpriced for what they offer or available elsewhere for less money.

Some businesses will cost you more to join than others therefore making them either unreachable for the masses or too difficult to promote.

Determination of which company or business program to join involves researching the ownership and people involved, the compensation plan and the product or services they offer.  Look for any obstacles in the compensation plan that would prohibit you from achieving the top levels of earning a great income.

If an online company or business program, it’s owners or people involved have had past legal or ethical issues, it’s a pretty safe bet that you will not want to be involved in that opportunity. Be safe and protect yourself and your money. Always do your “Due Diligence” before joining any online company or business program.

So How Does One Earn a Great Long-Term Residual Income Online?

A “Residual” income is one that keeps paying you over and over again and can be built into a long-term lifelong income so long as the company you’re involved with stays the course like some of the more traditional companies that we all know and/or have heard of.

To earn a long-term “Residual” income, you must find that one thing you really love doing and are passionate about. Okay, so you may not ever own or be the CEO of a company, so what!!  You can still be the companies best promoter, business builder and earner creating a long-term “Residual” Income that will in fact last a lifetime.

Remember that nothing happens overnight.  There is NO quick way to earn income, wave a magical wand or online business lottery that will pay you the big bucks without your spending time and effort building it first!

How you earn a long-term “Residual” Income happens in a few ways. First you MUST bring other people into your business.  Then you must also focus on getting them trained to do the business.  You must have a way to replicate what you do and how you do it and be able to train others to do the same.

ALWAYS give the protential new team members a “Reason” why they want to do the business!   Product information calls don’t do this.  Company calls that focus on the business specific, key in the compensation plan and company progression do well at creating excitement and therefore a reason to do the business!

“Replication” describes what happens when you have “Repeat” anything wether it’s customers or one after the other new team members.  The art of “Replication” is your members doing what you do and how you do it.  It is the process of “Repeating” things over and over again.  It is how you build your reputation and ultimately your business!

* (We no longer use the term “Duplication”. It’s an old industry term and it doesn’t describe what people too often use it for.  Instead we use the word “Replication”.  Why?  Because you don’t have “Duplicate” customers or team members.  “Duplicate” means having 2 of the same thing or being the same as another!)

NEVER lead with your opportunity. No one likes to be told that you have the only or the best business going, let alone hear all about your business the very first time they talk with you!

Get to know your customer or potential new member first!  Talk with them about what they like, their family, their life and what they’ve done in a business or are currently doing.

You’ll learn a lot about a person by listening to what their opinions or perceptions are and then you’ll have the opportunity to correct those opinions or perceptions and promote your business to them appropriately. Don’t waste it!

Follow up is everything!  Once you’ve gotten someone to a call or webinar …DO YOUR FOLLOW UP!  Don’t wait until the next day! If you wait until the next day or the next week, you risk losing momentum and your customer or new members interest!

Take the FIRST opportunity to talk with that potential customer or new member about what they’ve heard or experienced.  Ask them questions and then …let them do the talking!  Find out what it is that gets them excited …what they love doing!

By listening to what they have to say, you’re finding out what you and they have in common.  Use that common ground and what gets them excited to bond your interests to theirs and promote your business to them!  There’s always something they’ll say or get excited about that has something in common with you and your business!

ALWAYS lead with the benefits …get people to a webinar or conference call FIRST!  They can visit your website later.  No matter what they say or do before that …they’ll at least have the information they need to make an informed decision and that’s where you come in. They’ll likely have alot of questions and you IF you know your business you will be able to answer them or at least get them on a 3-way call with someone who does!

Getting people to your company calls and training is your “Report Card” for how well you’re doing!  The same goes for your members on your team …it is your place to train them on this!

Most importantly …you MUST create a step-by-step plan to accomplish your goals.  Remaining consistent, persistent, timely, committed, dedicated and hard working daily until you reach your goals.  Getting to be the top promoter and earner in your company is the real key to your success!

Don’t Ever Expect Things to Happen Imediately …Everyone’s Timing is Different!

Why do some people object and reject you and your business offer?  They’re busy and focused on something else they’re doing. They may not see the value in what you have to offer.  They get stuck in a mindset or belief system about things they’ve been told or they simply have a different way of perceiving things.

Maybe you haven’t explained your business to them efficiently or accurately. Sometimes it’s that you didn’t move fast enough, your timing was bad.  Maybe it’s that you don’t have the right answers when they ask particular questions …you may not have studied or know your business as well as you should!

It’s so important to KNOW your business.  Things are always changing in a business which is another reason to be on all the company calls and trainings!  Get to KNOW your website and back office …it’s an intregal part of your business and how well you will succeed!  Bottom Line:  Never stop learning!

Not all people have the same learning curve for whatever reason and …most people don’t retain everything to memory like others do!  Even if they did …they don’t use what they’ve learned because it doesn’t apply to their situation or business or they think of their business as a ‘Hobby’.

Some people are real “Go Getters” and they’ll perform accurately and quickly.  Some are not and won’t work well under pressure. They are focused on other or wrong perceptions or they don’t have as much experience as you do.

Sometimes a person is slow to pick up and learn things about the business. They don’t have enough internet experience and may not even know some of the very basic skills. They don’t know how to write an email or ad, how to use a mailer or auto-responder, how to social network and any number of other internet skills.  They need patience, time and consistent training to help them learn how to do things the right way.

Don’t ever think that just because a person comes into your business and they operate a little slower than you …that they won’t succeed!  Some do and some don’t no matter how much experience or training they have.  Some, no matter how much experience or training simply won’t buckle down and get the job done.  You could put someone in your business thinking they won’t last and they …could turn out to be your best producer!

On the other hand, you can put an experienced business builder on your team and they may not meet your expectations.  Why?  Because they’re not really committed to what they’re doing. It could be they’re at the top of the hill in another business and are focused on that or …they’ve simply run out of people they know to invite into the business. They get objections and rejections the same as you do!  If they’re really interested in being involved in your business …give them time, they’ll build at their own pace.

The point here is …DON’T have unrealistic expectations!  Do YOUR best at helping the “Little” guy and the “Big” guy!  Learn everything you can from everyone big or small in your industry and in your business.  You’ll quickly learn how to handle yourself with others and to earmark those things that work and get rid of ideas that don’t!  Remember you’re in the people business!  You have to sell YOU …the rest takes care of itself!

If you really want to earn a good residual income,  you have to first think about how bad do you want it. Then decide what it is that you really love doing. Once you have those two answers …you have what it takes to do a business successfully!  Then next steps are up to you!  If what you’re doing isn’t working …change it!

Don’t Pretend or Say You’re Something You’re Not …

Once you’ve got all the steps in place …then you will be qualified to teach and train others.  Once you have the tools you need to be successful …go out and share it!  Don’t go trying to impress people with something you’re not or …something you don’t know!  Too many people tell others “I’m a success coach” or “I’m a mentor”.

Oh really?  NO …You’re Not!  Mentors and Success Coaches are people like Anthony Robbins, Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy, Jack Canfield and others.  If you haven’t walked the walk like they have and have arrived where they are …You are NOT a Mentor or a Success Coach!!

You’ll gain a reputation ..either good or bad based on what others know and/or perceive about you.  If you’re a ‘Know-it-All’  …people will run away from you.  If you’re a “Slacker” people will know that about you too!  If you know how to find answers or who to get them from and your honest about it, people will depend on you!  People don’t forget things they hear, read or perceive about you. Your “Reputation” is who you are and …it WILL follow you wherever you go!

Share what you do know. If you don’t have the answers, go find them!  Go find someone who does know and learn from them! Then apply what you’ve learned to your business.  Tell others about it and begin your great journey to the next step …getting others to join your business, following your example and repeating what you do and how you do it!

If you’re going to be a leader in your industry or business, you must take the steps to become one!  There’s NO way to fake being a leader until you become one.

The difference will be obvious to others.  Make just one mistake, present something wrong or say something untrue and others will pick up on it and …they will remember it.  This will be the legacy you decide for yourself and you’ll have no one to blame when you don’t attract others to your business!

You must do the work involved first and then you can take on that credibility, title or reputation with dignity and assurance that you know what you’re doing and can teach others how to do the same!

Until then …you’re still learning. You’re a “Follower” and not a “Leader”.

If we could give you one piece of good advice about having a business online and being a leader it would be …”Never pretend or say you’re something you’re not, until it actually happens!”

Don’t even attempt to talk the talk until …you’ve walked the walk!

Always be honest and ethical in your dealings.  People look to and depend on people they know and trust. Your reputation in any online company or business program is what you make it!

How much income you earn depends on your reputation and willingness to go the distance.  What you earn is directly dependent on what you learn, staying focused, working smarter not harder, working consistently and diligently and ultimately on the people you deal with and how you do that on a daily basis! Advertising That Works …Your Survival Guide!

Last time we wrote about ‘THE 5 Keys to Success’.  This time, we’d like to give you 10 good tips about how you should advertise your online business.  Advertising at best can be costly if you haven’t taken the time to really research and find the resources and avenues available to maximize promoting your business online.

The problem with most is that they don’t think seriously enough about what they’re promoting and how they should be doing it.  This is because they’re either in a rush or they simply haven’t been taught or learned the correct ways to advertise their online business.  SO, let’s start with some really basic things to remember when advertising your business.  If you’re having problems with your advertising, memorize these 10 steps.

This IS your ‘Survival Guide’ for Successful Advertising …

1.)  Start Small – Always start with a small advertising budget. Never rush into a big campaign without FIRST testing the concept.  Start with a small advertising budget until you find the formula that not only attracts prospective customers but that also results in sales.  Remember that not all promotions or campaigns have to have a big price tag to be successful.

2.)  Exit Strategy – Always provide yourself with an ‘Out’.  Insist that any advertising deal you enter into allows you to cancel if it stops working.  If you can’t get a ‘Cancellation Clause’, take your bag of advertising dollars elsewhere.  There are tons of places online that will handle your advertising for you and are agreeable enough for you to cancel if it’s not resulting in sales after a certain period of time.

3.)  Now or Never – Advertising that works and works immediately is the best. If the advertising you purchase is going to work, it will work right from the start.  Don’t fall for the advertising sales line that ‘An AD needs to run several times before you can expect results’.

4.)  Effective Advertising – Pays for itself.  Don’t get trapped with the ‘Lifetime Customer Value Pay Back’ nonsense.  Your advertising either works or it doesn’t.  Advertising that works pays for itself in a reasonable amount of time.  Hopefully within a matter of days but never more than a year.  If something isn’t working, change it!

5.)  Measure & Test – Advertising that can’t be measured doesn’t work.  You must track the effectiveness of all you advertising. That IS the only way you know it works.  Simply put, advertising we can’t measure, we don’t do …period!  If your advertising is working, do everything you can to maintain it.  If it doesn’t, cancel immediately.  Don’t get caught in a ‘Promise’ trap.  Wager your cost and the effectiveness of your advertising always.

6.) Good Advertising – It’s a fact.  Effective advertising consist of two parts.  The first part requires your advertising to drive prospects to your website or conference call.  The second part is for your side to close the deal.  Spend time making sure that your website and/or your customer service are doing their part in closing each sale.  If you’re the customer service …FOLLOW UP!  Most people give up and never follow up.  FOLLOW UP is the most important step in any deal!

7.)  Advertising that Works – Stands Out!  your advertising must be different in some way.  It could be a ‘Smoking Hot’ offer like a really low price, and unusual offer like a unique product or service that’s different, free website, 1st months product, no shipping …the list goes on and on.  If your advertising doesn’t offer something different, it’s not going to work.  Stay clear of ‘Hype’.  Most online marketers already know that ‘Hype’ doesn’t work.  ‘Hype’ is only effective to those that are new to online marketing and in many cases it backfires!

8.) Controversy is Good? – Some believe that anything that attracts attention is a good thing.  Even that it’s better to be known for the wrong reason than not to be known at all.  NOT always necessarily true!  Guard your credibility.  Make sure that whatever you’re doing can be backed up with proven facts and is not just some fantasy!

Always insure that the message you’re putting out is palatable to everyone. Do your best to maintain … BE professional at all costs!  You’re dealing with a lot of different personalities.  What may be acceptable to some, may not be to others!  Respect your customer, they’re usually right about what they believe wether or not you agree with them. If you do your best to please them and they don’t buy from you, it’s not your fault, they may simply not be interested in what you have to offer.  On the other hand this is also true …

9.)  You Can’t Please Everyone – The only way to please everyone is to be so ‘Vanilla’ that no one will remember your message.  It’s far better to stand out from the crowd.  Even the people that don’t like your message, will buy from you if the ‘Value’ proposition is right.  The quality and value of what you have to offer is what people remember.  Even if they don’t buy the first time, they may take a second look if it’s something they need!

10.)  Management – Anything that’s not managed WILL deteriorate! If you want to discover problems you don’t know about, take a few minutes to look closely at the areas you haven’t examined in a while.  Guaranteed the problems WILL be there!  NOT taking the time to evaluate your business, advertising approach, budget etc., can and usually does ruin everything and leave you on the short end of your own deal!

If you’re needing help with your business, advertising approach or resources, we can help.  We have many resources to assit you in getting your business and advertisinig going …OVER the TOP!
